Literature Text

There are things we were never meant to share.  Things that we silence on the tips of our tongues, half-formed whispers that we breathe back in and choke on, because they are ugly things, selfish things-but they are also truths.  It is for that reason that they exist, worming their way between the thoughts of sunshine and better days.  They whispered to us in dreams, and we knew we were not good; we knew we could not be good and believe such things.

They are the things said in the heat of anger that come back as we lie awake at night-things we meant, but had never dared to say; truths that were best kept inside, hidden from the ones we loved.  But in that moment, we were angry, and we spoke them.  They flew from our tongues and filled the empty spaces in which doubts and questions bounce.

We were angry.  But it is no excuse.  There are no ways to ask forgiveness for the truth; there is no way to dismiss it.  We could kiss our lies and pretend, painting on our smiles like a clown's, but we would know.  You would know, as the world would know, that knowledge is the greatest sin, and we forced your blinded eyes open.
I didn't mean to write this.
It just happened.

I dislike the new categories, they seem even less likely to fit anything I write.

This is extremely thought-provoking, the sort of thing I've been thinking of but in far less eloquent terms. The word choice and flow of this piece are fantastic, captivating.
